The days and nights of Brandon German

Right now, my sleeping habits are completely out of whack. I have been going to bed anywhere from 3 to 5 a.m., and getting up anywhere from 10 to 12 a.m. This is not good for someone who needs to get his body used to an eventual 10-11 p.m. to 6-6:30 a.m. sleep schedule.

So last night, in an effort to gradually get myself to that point, I voluntarily go to bed at 1 a.m. I fall asleep quickly (for me, anyway).

So when do I wake up today? 11:45!

Obviously, my body is missing the clue here. I’d go to bed at 10 tonight, but I’m afraid I might not get up until the next afternoon…

After I finally figured out your times with the going to bed at 1 a.m. and waking up in the afternoon, it just seems that it’ll take more than one try to get yourself adjusted. I don’t know how much sleep you normally require. I’m at my best on 9 hours but can function on 7. Eight is a groggy middle ground that I don’t much like to think about. I say, sleep as late as you can for as long as you can until a job looms on the horizon. Then get into the normal sleep schedule. Set an alarm and try to get lots of exercise during the day to wear yourself out so that you’re tired when it’s time to go to sleep. And, if worse comes to worst, you can always drink warm milk (it’s hard to swallow and tastes bad) to put yourself to sleep. That is, if you drink milk and if you’re desperate. But, look at the time. I’ll screw up my sleep schedule too if I don’t stop talking to your screen. Good night and God bless!

    I had this weird dream.
I heard a voice say:” from my son Paul, it’s in August, it’s called Birmingham, the negative effects of caffeine.
Well, I thought, the dream was the negative effects of pizza before bedtime – although I hadn’t had any!
Then I thought, let’s try putting these phrases into a search engine.
So I come up with your web-site. At first I thought, definitely the pizza. Then I saw the verse at the top of the page – Philippians 4:13.
Yes I thought, that is very relevant, and it is from Paul.
So I said to a friend today (he’s more prophetic than me) Why the fuss? Usually the Lord gives me the reference, and I look it up – Simple.
    He said
    1) For you to think more about it.
    2) Cut down the caffeine (I had already got that. I am drinking apple juice as I write)
3)Why not pray for this Brandon German guy?
So I will, I’m not a great prayer person (unlike my wife) but I will pray for you, and I thought I would let you know that.
If you have any particular need let me know.
    Yours
    Rob
