Poem
A Home Just Our Own
04/03

On New Years Day two thousand and three,
A new phase of your life began, one together with me.
What excitement filled the air as the adventure began,
What would it be like to have this new boy in your land?
Yet another question was pressing, where was I to stay?
And would I live there for free, or would the people make me pay?
I stayed at your house for the first week or so,
Then to play video games with Andrew for two months I would go.
In the first three months all I wanted was a home,
But I moved so many times I thought I was destined to roam.
Finally we found the little shack behind Nate’s house,
The place was so dirty it wasn’t fit for a mouse.
But with a little bit of work and the weeds getting mowed,
We turned that old place into a humble abode.
Lord willing for now it is here I will remain,
If I move once more, I just might go insane.
The only problem with this house is that I live all alone,
It makes me long for the day that we can have a home just our own.
To find to our home and to end my heart’s ache,
My Princess another step in our journey its now time to take.
To get to this point, three thousand miles I have driven
I’ve talked to the parents, their blessings they have given.
The journey some say will at times be hard,
When life just won’t deal you that one winning card.
How will you make it,” many will say,
Without the things of this world so important today?”
But our God is much greater than they will ever know,
His glory in our lives He promises to show.
He will teach us to love each other more and more everyday,
Through His grace, He’ll provide… His power He’ll display.
This poem my Angel, must now come to an end,
But our life together is about to begin.
I love you so much; I know this is true,
That I can’t live the rest of my life without you.
So I’m asking you tonight to be my loving wife,
I promise to cherish you for the rest of my life.
So much honor and joy to my life you will bring,
If tonight you say yes when I give you this ring.

Love,
Bobby
