Guess who’s finally back!<\/p>\n
And finally got an Internet connection again. Okay, I’m fudging a little bit. I did have my AT&T account still, but I wanted to make the first post in Florida special because it’s the first one from my Ethernet connection! Woo-hoo! I’ve finally reached the world of broadband!<\/p>\n
It took a couple of days and a different network card to get that set up, but it’s worth it just to see ESPN.com<\/a> load up in less than a second. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Everything’s not in place yet, although I’m a lot farther along than I thought I’d be at this point. Right now, all I have to do left is hang a couple more things and arrange my empty storage bins a little better. After that, I’ll probably look into getting a couple more pictures to go on the walls; except for the requisite “Alabama room”, most of the walls look pretty barren. Pictures to come when I get the entire place set up like I want it.<\/p>\n So, let’s see…the move. The experience was exhausting, let me tell you. I haven’t been that tired over a three-day span in a long time. It took me until Tuesday to really recover, and we finished the physical moving on Sunday. I slept very soundly on Monday night; going off of caffeine (again) may have something to do with that.<\/p>\n When I haven’t been moving, cleaning, or unpacking stuff, I’ve made my way outside a couple of times to look around the town. I still haven’t made it to the campus yet except to get to the other side. But now that the final piece here at the apartment (the Internet connection) is in place, I’m going to try to get there and have a look around and meet some people in my department<\/a>. Hopefully, I can get a head start on the orientation thing. I’m looking forward to getting my ID card so I can ride the buses<\/a> for free. It’ll save me gas and give me an easy way of looking around the city…<\/p>\n Well, that’s all for now. But I’m alive, well, and complete with a fast Net connection, so all is well. \nSo what’s been up with me? Well, as you might guess, moving, unpacking, and arranging things, mostly. I’ve gotten my phone line turned on, and check this…I’ve actually made it to the 20th<\/sup> century (now that we’re in the 21st<\/sup>) and gotten a cell phone! I’m just upgrading all over.<\/p>\n
