The Junk Drawer
I'd like to share with everyone some of the things I found tonight while cleaning out my junk drawer:
- the bloody bandana used to wrap up my hand when I sliced it open during a drama performance (the pastor of the church didn't want it back)
- the luggage tags from just about every choir tour I went on in high school
- my brother's strobe light, which we permanently borrowed for parties at Bobby's house
- about 50 AOL CDs, ready to be used as coasters or Christmas decorations
- a bunch of Mardi Gras beads, which is odd since I've never been
- a GI Joe and a Transformer (Beach Head and Beachcomber, respectively)
- my first temporary driver's licence (the one they give you before the real one comes in the mail
- the original engine coolant cap from my old Corsica (it was replaced in an ill-fated attempt to fix the constant leaking
- some brochures from Hawaii
- an old flashlight, complete with leaking battery
- some matches from a restaurant in city I've never been to (???)
- three of the classic decks of cards used in millions of games of spades and 313 at the BCM in college (Coke, Coke Polar Bear, and Looney Toons, anyone?)
- a Vestavia Hills "Junior Police" badge
- a napkin from my dad's retirement party in 1989
- a key (hope it wasn't to anything important)
- a sign that was looted from my church's old Christian Life Center before it was torn down - "This room is reserved for men only (18 and over)"
- one Lego
